NEW PROGRAM FOR HUMAN AND INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

WASHINGTON - April 19, 2006. September, 2005.  USAID has begun implementing the Community Connections Program for human and institutional capacity development.  The Program offers three to five week-long practical training opportunities in the United States for entrepreneurs, local government officials, non-governmental organization leaders, education administrators, as well as medical, business support, and environmental professionals.  Participants live with American host families.  In Belarus, the program will be administered by the American Center for Education and Research (ACER).  An estimated 50 Belarusians will annually be able to take advantage of the opportunity to obtain first-hand knowledge in their field of expertise.
